While the summer is filled with fruity cider and spirit launches, perfect for sipping on in the sun, as soon as the weather changes we get treated to the arrival of creamy rich autumnal drinks, with Christmas tipples not too far off either.
This September, hitting the perfect sweet-spot for late summer and early fall, Tia Maria just announced a brand new matcha version of its iconic coffee liqueur, and we can’t wait to try it.
Matcha flavour has been a huge trend these past few years and shoppers just can’t get enough of the creative new ways it’s showing up on our shelves.
With this new Japanese twist, Tia Maria Matcha promises; “a uniquely fresh yet indulgent liqueur with the distinctive flavours and natural caffeine of Japanese green Matcha tea extract, providing a floral and refreshing twist on the aromatic Tia Maria taste with a smooth and creamy finish.”
Serve over ice, and if you’re feeling indulgent, the makers recommend mixing two teaspoons of sugar and one of matcha powder in a dish, and dipping the rim of your chilled (for around 10 mins) moist glass in the mix, before adding your ice and Tia Maria Matcha.
Or, add the matcha rim to half a coupe or martini glass, shake 40ml of vodka with 40 ml of Tia Maria Matcha in a cocktail shaker with ice and strain in, for a tasty Matcha-tini.
