KitKat have launched a limited edition caramelised biscuit flavour as a festive treat in the run up to Christmas.
It aims to bring seasonal cheer early by giving its popular chocolate treat a caramelised biscuity makeover.
What can you expect from the new KitKat Caramelised Biscuit?
Crisp wafer layers are a trademark of KitKat, so expect this to remain unchanged. The chocolate is where you can really taste the new lightly spiced festive flavours that are subtle enough for all to enjoy.
Smooth KitKat milk chocolate is given a contemporary twist with the addition of caramel, cinnamon and spice. This KitKat bar has a much warmer flavour profile and is perfect to enjoy with a cup of cocoa especially when the nights are drawing in.
KitKat was invented in York in 1935 when the first four-finger bar was introduced as the ‘Rowntree’s Chocolate Crisp’. Fast forward 86 years and its 21st century makeover is not only fun, but bang on trend too.
Caramelised biscuit, beurre noisette, butterscotch, toffee and toasted spices are all top flavours that we expect to see more of in the coming years. Much like salted caramel that is now considered a traditional flavour alongside vanilla, it won’t come as a surprise to see this flavour extend its shelf-life beyond Christmas.
Alicia Gardner, Assistant Brand Manager for KitKat said: “As the days grow shorter and colder, it’s time to curl up and get cosy. With its warming spiced caramel flavour, our newest two-finger KitKat is a delicious treat to enjoy with a hot drink this season.
“Inspired by the flavours of speculoos, the traditional Belgian spiced cookie, this is a limited edition flavour, only available for winter months, so don’t forget to try some before they are gone!”
