It’s no secret that Jameson Irish Whiskey, the No.1 Irish Whiskey in the World, has lots of fans. But the great thing about them is that their popularity doesn’t stop the brand from growing and trying new things to avoid the trap of complacency.

In the name of keeping Irish whiskey exciting, Jameson is finally introducing its new craft beer series to the Philippines, with the launch of the Stout and IPA Editions.

What are the Jameson Stout and IPA Editions, you ask—simply put, it’s what you get when you finish off that signature smooth Jameson Irish Whiskey for four months in barrels that have previously held craft beer. It’s the product of an experiment by Jameson’s Head of Whiskey Science, creating bold new flavors for Irish whiskey.

The Jameson Stout Edition features an initial aroma of freshly cut hay, which is complemented by a character of crisp orchard fruit such as green apples, pears, and a hint of lime zest; also appearing are hints of mild pot still spices, which include green tea, and milk chocolate. Its taste has a subtle touch of coffee and charred oak from the beer cask and has a long and sweet finish of milk chocolate and butterscotch.

Meanwhile, the Jameson IPA Edition has an aroma that’s floral and herbal, featuring notes of hops, grapefruit, and orchard fruits, complemented by wood shavings and nuttiness. The hops and citrus extend to its taste, which also includes delicate spicy tones, and it has the signature smooth finish of barley.

The Jameson Stout and IPA Editions were properly introduced at a personality-filled launch event held on May 19 at the Island in BGC. The Island now also holds the distinction of being Jameson’s official venue partner and brand home in the Philippines.

“With craft beer being quite popular in the Philippines, we’re excited to show both Filipino beer fans and whiskey fans what the best of both worlds is like with the Jameson Stout and IPA Editions,” said Frances Favila, Jameson brand manager.
