There is a new way to “yabba dabba doo” breakfast, and it doesn’t involve a cereal bowl. As reported by Brand Eating, Mrs. Butterworth’s has unveiled a Fruity Pebbles-inspired pancake syrup infused with the flavor of the classic rainbow-hued cereal. Based on that description (and the product’s dark red color), it seems that the topping will combine a hint of fruitiness with the familiar sugary taste of pancake syrup. Just as Fruity Pebbles change the color of your cereal milk, this syrup will surely put a visual spin on your pancake stack.

The Mrs. Butterworth’s Fruity Pebbles syrup is currently available for $2.74 per 24-ounce bottle at Walmart, and it’s unknown if the product will appear at other supermarkets. If you can find it at a Walmart near you, you may also want to check out Mrs. Butterworth’s new Fruity Pebbles pancake mix, which @junkpickers shared on Instagram. Though the box already includes frosting to go on top, the cereal-studded pancakes would surely benefit from a generous drizzle of Fruity Pebbles syrup.

Could cereal-flavored syrup be the next big food trend?

Mom might have said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and fittingly, no one wants those flavors to taste boring. While many people who grew up eating sugary cereals for breakfast might still get cravings for the meal today, a bowl of Fruity Pebbles or Cap’n Crunch isn’t the only way to satisfy a hankering for nostalgia. Thanks to new products like cereal-flavored coffee creamers and this recent cereal-inspired pancake syrup, breakfast lovers can taste their childhood without even opening a cereal box.

Based on the release of Mrs. Butterworth’s Fruity Pebbles syrup, it seems that a new cereal-inspired food trend could be on the rise. Walmart has previously sold an “Ocean Blue” maple-flavored syrup inspired by Cap’n Crunch, which some people surely paired with the Cap’n Crunch Berrytastic pancake mix. Considering the many iconic cereal brands on store shelves, Mrs. Butterworth’s (and other syrup makers) have an opportunity to create lots more pancake toppings for cereal fans.
