One is an iconic sweet cherished by generations of Brits.
The other is a fizzy tipple perfect for a pub garden in the sunshine.
Now the two have come together in a unlikely marriage thanks to cider makers Brothers.
Parma Violet Cider is now on sale in shops and exclusively at Greene King pubs across the country.
Described as “a delicate flavour of sweet violets with a subtle hint of floral notes and delicious local Somerset apples” there are also a gluten free version suitable for vegans.
Calum Cameron from Greene King said: “The trend for flavoured cider is huge at the moment, which is why we worked with Brothers to create this new cider.
“We’re really excited to launch Brothers Parma Violet Cider exclusively across our pubs.
“Brothers are known for their array of different flavoured drinks and this one is no exception, we’re sure guests who visit our pubs will love it.”
It’s arrival has been celebrated by many on Twitter.
One user said: “I’ve just heard that there is a Parma Violet cider on the market and I will not rest until I have consumed every drop.”
Another said: “On your marks, get set, GO! First person to find me this drop of heaven wins a prize! I mean Parma Violet Cider, why did I think of this!”
However, others aren’t so sure.
