Dragon fruits are one of the most popular fruits in the Chinese market. This kind of fruit is loved by Chinese consumers because of the sweet flavor. The price of dragon fruit currently shows an upward trend. Yu Hong, who works at a fruit trade company in Beijing, provided a look at the dragon fruit market: “The current price of dragon fruit is higher than it was around this time last year. This is mainly because the Vietnamese export volume declined. Vietnam did not have much rainfall and the overall production volume of dragon fruit decreased. This in turn resulted in a smaller volume of dragon fruit exported from Vietnam to China. The overall demand from the Chinese market, however, is quite good.”
“The market demand for dragon fruit is not seasonal. There are summer fruits whose production volume greatly expands during the summer, but dragon fruit is different in this respect. We can deliver dragon fruit all year round and the market conditions are relatively similar. Our company provides the Chinese market with red dragon fruit that has red fruit flesh and red dragon fruit that has white fruit flesh. We design our own packaging for the dragon fruit we sell. We work with a third-party company in Vietnam. The fruit is packaged there and then imported to China. This method is highly efficient. The fruit is quickly packaged and we know that the packaging standards meet with the requirements for the Chinese market.
The overall process is quite smooth because production and packaging both happen in Vietnam. This is a great advantage for us. We have small, medium, and large packages for different grades of dragon fruit. Each type of packaging meets the requirements of customers. Our overall design works out very well. This company is specialized in the retail of dragon fruit. Our main market is Beijing.
